When I came across this recipe, it originally called for a full cup of sugar which I thought would make it way too sweet. I figured the purpose of the sugar was to create the glaze but I cut it back to just one tablespoon anyway. I am very happy with the result but you may want to experiment with more sugar.

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet over a medium high heat.
  2. Warm garlic until fragrant
  3. Place chicken in the skillet, and cook about 10 minutes on each side, until no longer pink and juices run clear
  4. Drain oil from skillet
  5. Sprinkle chicken with paprika and sugar
  6. Pour red wine around chicken.
  7. Cover, and simmer about 15 to 20 minutes; lightly baste chicken with wine sauce while cooking.
  8. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
